- Smugmug - It's the best photo album/sharing/archive
site ever!
- William "Hong Kong Ricky Martin" Hung
- This guy is just too funny. I never get tired of watching his American Idol
audition.
[update] I got tired of checking his page for every single new event, though.
- Orkut - It's like Friendster! Except
you put in more geeky types and get rid of most of the ghetto people (after
all, most of the people from my high school haven't found it yet). It's got
communities and forums (I just looooove forums)...and it's related to Google!
=)
- Google - Who doesn't
go to this site for random stuff? I have a google toolbar on my browser too!
- My Yahoo - Still my favorite
portal after all these years. I got my mail, my news and my cartoons, what
more do I need?
- SFGate- News about the
Bay Area. Nice restaurant reviews. Good site to go to when there's no where
else to go.
- Slickdeals - The
best deal site on the 'net. You just gotta be there when there's a special
deal. Sometimes you can get free stuff too.
- Weather - Gotta check
the weather before I go to leave the house
- Mapquest - I'm have
a horrible sense of direction...and I'm too poor to have gps navigation in
my car
- Bank of America - My
joint checking/savings account with Uly. Gotta make sure my paycheck comes
in and the mortgage goes out!
- Washington
Mutual - Gotta make sure I'm balancing my personal/"fun money"
account!
- Discover
Card - My first and favorite credit card...I've actually got my account
number memorized since I use it to shop online all the time. Gotta love that
cash back.
- Our wedding website
- This site has not been updated since I posted our wedding pictures,
but enjoy!
- My hubby, Uly's website
- No matter what I do, he always seems to come up w/ cooler stuff to put on
his site. But he's still a dork.
- Albert's site - I blatantly ripped
off his Movable type blog and "sunset" navigation bar ideas. Hey,
imitation is the best form of flattery!
- Jon's site - Probably the
best, most content-rich personal website I've ever seen. This guy is cool,
but he must have no life after working so much on his site (j/k, Jon!)
- Yolanda's site - Come
look at her world travels. I wanna go to Europe, too!
- Carrie's site
- AKA the office gossip pages.
- Carrie's xanga
- More snark about reality tv shows. Man, our lives are so pathetic that we
post about TV on our blogs!
- Vanessa's xanga
- Vanessa's blog, started since right after she moved to Nashville. Did I
say Nashville???? Yup!
- Michele's xanga
- Michele's blog. She's a New Yorker now! At least she's still not a Yankees
fan!
- Amazon.com - Probably
the best online shopping site ever. No tax, free shipping on a lot of things,
and the best user interface of any commercial site I've seen.
- Outpost.com - This
site used to have free overnight shipping back in the day, but people like
me totally ripped them off (next-day shipping for $10 CDR packs), and now
they're owned by Fry's. I don't really get my stuff here much anymore, but
sometimes they do have some deals.
- Dell.com - This is where
I got our home theatre projector. Sometimes they can have some ridiculously
great deals.
- Comp-u-plus - Good
site for buying CPUs and computer components.
- CNet - I've been going
to this site for years...good place to look at product reviews.
- ZDNet - Another tech
article/reviews site. They own a bunch of magazines including PC Magazine.
- Slashdot - Blog/news
board that usually has one of the latest technology news.
- Tom's Hardware
- Great review site for the latest and greatest in computers.
- AnandTech - Another
review site for the more technologically inclined. Very detailed reviews of
motherboards...hope NVidia comes up on top every time!
- PracticallyNetworked
- This site taught me everything about setting up a home network back when
it was still TimHiggins.com
- GRC.com - Good site to check
out your firewalls, making sure your home pc is secure.
- MovableType -
Great (Free!) software for setting up your own blog. It only took me a couple
of hours to get mine up and running. Very customizable.
- EOnline - Gossip about my favorite
tv shows (Watch with Wanda looooves Buffy/Angel, and the best/worst dressed
stars!
- TelevisionWithoutPity
- Recaps and reviews of TV shows...I like how they don't just put the super-popular
shows, but also shows with a limited but devoted audience like those WB shows.
- Angel Cross&Stake Spoiler Board
- Sadly, this board will soon follow the Buffy
board to oblivion. I go here for spoilers, but been trying to stay spoiler-free
until Angel ends.
- Gateworld - Everything
you want to know about Stargate SG-1, one of my favorite tv shows ever. We
own DVD box sets of all seasons 1-6!
- AmericanIdol - Who could resist
such an addictive reality show! I missed season 2, but it's since been on
the top of my Tivo season pass list.
- Here Comes The Guide- This
is the best place to look if you are planning to get married
in the Bay Area. There are tons of information and pictures about different
Bay Area ceremony and reception locations.
- The Knot - If you are looking for
wedding gowns, this website has the best selection of wedding gowns online,
hands down. It also has a lot of useful articles, probably the best all-around
wedding website there is.
- Wedding Channel - The main
feature of this website is their online registry information, but they also
have a lot of miscellaneous articles and tips.
- Craigslist - A great resource for
finding talented and affordable vendors. We found our videographer and photographer
through this site, and they are great!
- Sense of Light - Website of Keith
Nelson, our photographer. He did a wonderful job at my sister's wedding, and
can't wait until he does mine!
- Classical Sound Productions - After
Ulysses heard them playing at SF Shopping Center, we decided to hire these
talented musicians to play at our wedding.
- Trudys Brides - This is where
I got my wedding dress...they have excellent service, and they have a dress
for every budget, big and small!
- Jessica McClintock - A great
place for bridesmaids dresses, with a great selection, and affordable prices.
- PartyBlock.com - They
are an online reseller of Regency
Invitations, and sell really great (and cheap!) invitations. Probably
the best deal out there for engraved invitations.
- Just Desserts - They have the
best chocolate cake in the bay area, and they make beautiful and affordable
wedding cakes, too!
- AAA - Nothing beats "Triple-A" when it
comes to planning the honeymoon. We were surprised at how easy and cheap (cheaper
than most online places!) it is to book our honeymoon through them. The only
drawback is that you have to be a member.
- Macys Wedding Registry -
Great place to register (you do it through Wedding Channel). They have almost
anything you can possibly want as a wedding present, and you can buy both
at the store, or online
- Amazon.com Gift Registries - If you can't find it at
Macy's, you'll sure find it at Amazon.com. They sell everything under
the sun, and cheaper than most places too! And nothing beats free shipping
for orders over $25!
- UC Berkeley - My alma mater. They
started asking me for money already, and I'm not even paid up on my student
loans yet.
- Friendster - Great site for stalking
people you knew back in the day.
